Flip Video
Posted by Carambs
I gave my hubby a Flip Video (Ultra Series) for Christmas. I found it on Amazon.com during Black Friday, the day after Thanksgiving. This is the day when almost all retailers in the US go on sale. It was featured in the Electronics category, and I got interested because of the good reviews. I love the gift because he loved it, but also because I can use it. Haha!

The Flip Video (Ultra) is as small as the Canon Ixus. It’s very, very simple to use. 1 click to record, 1 click to stop. The Ultra series has a 2 gig memory, and it can record upto 1 hour worth of videos. The regular Flip Video can also record an hour’s worth of video, but it only has a 1 gig memory so I’m guessing the difference is in the quality of the videos. It is perfect for short trips, where you can take short videos of your destinations. Then you can post them on YouTube afterwards. It’s definitely not a replacement for the real-deal camcorders if your objective is to document important events such as birthdays and graduations and the like. But for short trips, it will do. It can be connected to the PC/laptop via USB. Perfect partner for the Asus Eee PC!
I’m not sure if it’s available in the Philippines. If you’re interested, you can buy it from Amazon.com at around $150-$170, depending on the seller. I was able to get ours at $149. I highly, highly recommend it!
